Frequently asked questions

Hijack a ClearCase file

Question
Can a ClearCase file be hijacked (i.e. modified without being checked out)?

Answer
Yes, a ClearCase file can be hijacked from WebSphere(R) Studio, whether or not you are connected to the ClearCase server. Once the file is modified, the file will be changed to Read/Write status from Read-Only in ClearCase even if it is not checked out.

In WebSphere Studio 5.1.X, you now have the option to Undo Hijack. For further details on how to Undo Hijack, look in the WebSphere Studio 5.1.X's online help under the keywords: Undo Hijack.

Refer to the related information section for further information on Rational ClearCase usage and integration in WebSphere Studio
